
Air India, Emirates, and Lufthansa are investing billions to upgrade their first and business class cabins and services, anticipating increased demand from Indian travelers. The share of premium seats on flights connecting India to foreign destinations has risen over 31% in two years, with capacity more than doubling since 2021. Air India is leading with a $400 million retrofit program, new Dreamliner jets, and enhanced lounges. Emirates and Lufthansa are also enhancing cabins, with Lufthansa introducing fully enclosed business class suites starting July.
