India Ranks 80th on Global Passport Index, Access to 55 Destinations

India's passport has improved its global standing, now ranking 80th on the Henley Passport Index for 2026, a five-place rise from the previous year's 85th position. Indian passport holders now have access to 55 destinations visa-free, visa-on-arrival, or via eTA. This places India in the lower half of global mobility rankings, while Singapore leads with access to 192 destinations. The index compares visa-free access across 199 passports to 227 travel destinations.
