PM Modi Inaugurates Micron's Semiconductor ATMP Facility in Gujarat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Micron Technology's Rs 22,500 crore Semiconductor Assembly, Test and Packaging (ATMP) facility in Sanand, Gujarat, marking India's entry into the global semiconductor value chain. The plant, the first approved under the India Semiconductor Mission, features around 500,000 square feet of cleanroom space and will produce memory and storage products like DRAM, NAND, and SSDs for global markets. This development reflects India's shift from a software-focused economy to strengthening its hardware manufacturing capabilities, supporting AI and high-performance computing demands while generating significant employment.
