
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate Micron Technology's Rs 22,516 crore semiconductor Assembly, Testing, Marking and Packaging (ATMP) facility in Sanand, Gujarat, on February 28. The plant will produce memory and storage products like DRAM, NAND, and SSDs for domestic and global markets, supporting AI and advanced computing. Currently employing 2,000 people, the facility aims to create 5,000 direct jobs, including opportunities for specially-abled workers. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw noted that two more semiconductor plants will start production soon, with a fourth expected by year-end, signaling growth in India's semiconductor sector.
