Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) has commissioned Taxiway M, a new parallel taxiway alongside its primary Runway 09 27. This upgrade aims to enhance airside efficiency by reducing aircraft taxi times, improving departure sequencing, and increasing operational resilience. The new taxiway will allow aircraft to queue while awaiting takeoff clearance, boosting departure capacity during peak hours and providing an alternate route during disruptions. CSMIA handles over 950 aircraft movements daily, previously relying on a single parallel taxi track.
