The International Monetary Fund approved an $8.1 billion, four-year loan for Ukraine, including an immediate disbursement of $1.5 billion. This loan replaces a previous $15.5 billion program from 2023 and aims to support Ukraine's economic stability, public spending, and medium-term external viability. IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva highlighted Ukraine's resilience during the ongoing conflict and emphasized reforms targeting corruption, tax issues, and energy markets.
