Indian Government Offers Up to Rs 50 Lakh Subsidy for Donkey Farming Under Livestock Mission

The Indian government is promoting donkey farming through the National Livestock Mission by offering up to Rs 50 lakh as a 50% capital subsidy to individuals and groups establishing donkey breeding farms. Eligible projects must include at least 50 female and 5 male indigenous donkeys. This initiative aims to revive the declining donkey population, which fell nearly 60% between 2012 and 2019, and support livestock businesses by preserving native breeds.
