Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) is accelerating construction on a six-kilometer stretch of its Phase II project, aiming for trial runs by mid-January. The Vadapalani-Poonamallee section, featuring a double-decker design, has seen a significant mobilization of nearly 4,000 workers and 57 cranes working around the clock. CMRL is prioritizing this section, shifting resources from other corridors to meet a targeted commercial operation launch in late January or early February. Station construction is expected to conclude by June.
