Indian Railways is upgrading the Pune-Manmad railway corridor with high-capacity 60-kg rails to enhance train speeds, safety, and reliability. The project, spanning over 300 km in Maharashtra, aims to support heavier freight loads and future speeds up to 130 kmph. Utilizing modern mechanised methods like the Plasser Quick Relaying System, the upgrade is being conducted with minimal disruption to ongoing passenger and freight services.
