
The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) plans to generate over Rs 250 crore in advertising revenue over the next five years, Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik announced during the 310th Board meeting. With 251 depots, more than 610 bus stands, and a fleet of about 12,000 buses serving 50 to 55 lakh passengers daily, the corporation aims to leverage its extensive network. A competitive bidding process has accepted tenders exceeding Rs 250 crore, expected to more than double current annual advertising income of around Rs 22 crore. The initiative seeks to diversify MSRTC's revenue sources and improve its financial health as ridership is projected to reach one crore daily.
