The Punjab government has extended its one-time settlement scheme for outstanding tax dues until March 31, 2025. This decision, announced by Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, follows requests from stakeholders citing compliance pressures and practical difficulties. The scheme, initially ending December 31, offers significant relief on pre-GST disputes, including waivers on interest and penalties. Over 6,300 applications have already been received, and the extension aims to encourage more businesses to settle long-pending dues and foster a pro-business environment.
