Indian Railways is introducing a new system for online ticket bookings, prioritizing Aadhaar-authenticated IRCTC users. Starting December 29, 2025, these users will receive an extended and exclusive booking window on the first day of reservation. Initially, this window will be from 8 am to 12 noon, with plans to extend it up to 16 hours. The initiative aims to reduce misuse, enhance fairness, and encourage Aadhaar authentication among passengers.
