Britain's Gambling Commission accused Meta Platforms, owner of Facebook and Instagram, of ignoring illegal online casino ads on its sites, many linked to operators outside the UK's GamStop self-exclusion scheme. Executive director Tim Miller said Meta's claim of unawareness was false, citing its searchable ad library showing such advertisers. Meta responded that it enforces strict policies, removes violating ads promptly, and collaborates with the Commission to improve detection tools. The regulator noted limited progress in resolving the issue.
