India Plans to Expand to 350 Airports by 2047, Civil Aviation Minister Says

At the World Economic Forum in Davos, India's Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu outlined plans to expand the country's airport infrastructure to nearly 350 by 2047, aiming to support a developed India. Currently the third largest domestic aviation market, India has grown from 74 airports in 2014 to 164 today, with plans to build 50 more in the next five years. The sector is growing annually at 10-12%, supported by policy initiatives, capital investment, and regional connectivity efforts. State governments are engaging with global leaders to explore collaboration opportunities.
