The Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) has added 850 industries to its 'White Category,' exempting them from environmental fees and simplifying registration under the Ease of Doing Business policy. This move, aligning with Central Pollution Control Board guidelines, aims to boost small-scale and home-based industries by granting immediate online permission and permanent permits. Maharashtra is reportedly the first state to include such a large number of industries in this category, intended to spur employment opportunities.
