DoSJE Reports Record Scholarship Disbursements to Scheduled Caste Students via DBT in 2025-26
The Department of Social Justice Empowerment (DoSJE) reported record scholarship disbursements to Scheduled Caste (SC) students in the 2025-26 financial year through its Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Scholarship Schemes. Utilizing Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) since 2021-22 and 2022-23 respectively, the department disbursed ₹562.36 crore to 26.79 lakh Pre-Matric beneficiaries and ₹6,208.08 crore to 47.53 lakh Post-Matric beneficiaries. The DBT system enhanced transparency and efficiency by transferring funds directly to Aadhaar-linked bank accounts, reflecting the government's efforts to improve educational access for SC students.
