Telecom companies, through the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), have accused the Adani-run Navi Mumbai airport of monopolistic practices and demanding exorbitant charges for providing mobile infrastructure. Passengers have reported connectivity issues. The airport operator, Navi Mumbai International Airport Ltd. (NMIAL), refutes these claims, stating they are ensuring passenger experience with their own in-building system (IBS) and that Right of Way was not denied, with rates offered in line with industry standards. NMIAL asserts the IBS is for uninterrupted connectivity and better maintenance in a sensitive zone.
