Amazon plans to move its annual Prime Day sale from July to late June, aligning the event with the back-to-school shopping season and shifting sales into its second quarter ending June 30. Since its 2015 launch, Prime Day has mostly occurred in July, except during the pandemic. Last year, the event expanded to four days, generating $24.1 billion in U.S. online spending. Amazon faces growing competition from retailers like Walmart and Target, which are enhancing digital order fulfillment and same-day delivery services.
