Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport will close its third runway (11R 29L) from February 16 for nearly five months to carry out comprehensive resurfacing and upgrades. The rehabilitation includes resurfacing, new taxiways, and installation of an Instrument Landing System, aiming to enhance safety and operational capacity. Despite the closure, the airport's daily flight movement capacity of 1,514 will be maintained through coordination with airlines and air traffic control. The runway is expected to reopen in early July, pending regulatory approvals.
