Godawari Power and Ispat has expanded its sponge iron capacity at its Raipur plant from 5.94 lakh tonnes to 6.5 lakh tonnes annually, following approval from the Chhattisgarh Environment Conservation Board effective February 28. The hard bright wire division's capacity also increased from 1 lakh to 1.15 lakh tonnes without additional investment or modifications. Despite this operational expansion, the company's shares declined amid a broader market downturn influenced by rising crude oil prices and geopolitical tensions.
