Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) plans to procure 60 new six-coach train sets to meet rising passenger demand, seeking government approval without waiting for Phase-II project clearance. The Telangana government is preparing to take over Phase-I operations, covering 69.2 km, from L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad by the end of the financial year. Efforts include addressing operational issues like common ticketing, first- and last-mile connectivity, and maintenance. Financial and technical consultants have been appointed to review Phase-I's accounting and operational structure.
