Autodesk has sued Google in San Francisco federal court, alleging trademark infringement over the use of the name "Flow" for AI-powered software targeting movie, TV, and video game production. Autodesk claims it began using Flow in September 2022 and that Google launched a competing product in May 2025 after assuring it would not commercialize the name. Autodesk alleges Google sought trademark protection in Tonga and the U.S. to overshadow Autodesk's market presence and is seeking unspecified damages. Google has not commented.
