Indian Railways Launches RailParcel App Pilot in Seven Cities to Enhance Parcel Logistics

Indian Railways, led by the South Central Railway zone, has launched the RailParcel app in seven cities—Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntur, Rajahmundry, Visakhapatnam, Bengaluru, and Chennai—to enhance parcel logistics. The app offers end-to-end digital services including real-time tracking, automated notifications, and digital payments. Developed with ROQIT technology by AION-Tech Solutions, the pilot aims to improve workflow digitization and coordination. Additionally, SCR signed an MoU with IIM Bangalore to study freight logistics and develop strategies to boost rail freight capacity by 2030.
