Wondrlab, a marketing technology startup founded in 2020 by former Publicis India CEO Saurabh Varma, is reportedly in the final stages of acquiring Madison World, an independent Indian advertising agency founded by Sam Balsara in 1988, for around Rs 1,000 crore (approximately $120 million). This deal would be the largest acquisition of a domestic independent agency by another Indian firm, marking a significant consolidation in India's advertising sector. Madison World, with estimated gross billings of Rs 5,000 crore and about 1,500 employees, had previously engaged in talks with global firms but did not finalize a deal. Both Wondrlab and Madison have declined to comment officially on the transaction.
