
The U.S. stock market operates Monday to Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET. On New Year's Eve (December 31), both NYSE and Nasdaq will close early at 1 p.m. ET, while the bond market closes at 2 p.m. ET. Most banks will be open on New Year's Eve, but all will be closed on New Year's Day (January 1) for the federal holiday. Regular market hours resume January 2.
