Air India reported a fourfold increase in technical incidents, including engine oil and fuel leaks, reaching 1.09 incidents per 1,000 flights in January 2025, the highest in at least 14 months. The airline operated over 17,500 flights that month, with 23 incidents reported and 21 formally investigated. These issues span both Airbus and Boeing fleets amid ongoing efforts to improve safety and operational processes following a fatal crash last year. Air India is implementing systemic improvements across operations and training to address these challenges.
