
The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts has acquired an ultra-luxury 71-villa resort in Coorg, Karnataka, for approximately Rs 560 crore, marking its entry into nature-led and wellness-focused hospitality. Set on 76 acres near Madikeri amidst coffee and spice plantations, the property will be launched as The Leela Coorg Forest Sanctuary later this year. The acquisition coincides with the brand's 40th anniversary and aims to expand its portfolio in South India with plans to increase villa inventory and offer wellness amenities, blending luxury with ecological and cultural values.
