Boeing is cutting about 300 supply chain jobs in its defense division across multiple U.S. sites, with affected employees to be notified soon. This reduction coincides with a shift of approximately 300 engineering jobs on the 787 Dreamliner program from Washington state to South Carolina. Despite these cuts, Boeing's overall workforce grew by around 10,000 to 182,000 employees by the end of 2025, and the company continues to recruit for over 1,300 open positions. Some laid-off workers may be reassigned within Boeing as part of ongoing workforce realignment ahead of upcoming union contract negotiations.
