The Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) is proposing to regulate regasification fees for natural gas, a charge currently outside its oversight. This move aims to cover more of the delivered cost of gas, alongside existing regulation of transmission tariffs. The proposal also suggests bringing natural gas under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime, addressing taxation as another significant cost component in the gas value chain.
