
At the 2026 World Economic Forum in Davos, Maharashtra signed MoUs worth over Rs 14.5 lakh crore across sectors including AI, digital infrastructure, logistics, real estate, and healthcare. The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority secured nearly USD 104.65 billion in investments, expected to generate 9.5 lakh jobs. The state also announced the Raigad-Pen Growth Centre as part of the 'Third Mumbai' urban development. While the government highlighted global partnerships and industrial progress, opposition parties questioned the need to sign deals abroad with Indian firms.
