Government to Borrow Rs 3.84 Lakh Crore Via Treasury Bills in Q4

The Indian government plans to borrow Rs 3.84 lakh crore through short-term treasury bills in the fourth quarter of the current financial year. This borrowing, spread over 12 weeks, aims to meet short-term funding needs. Weekly auctions will range from Rs 29,000 crore to Rs 35,000 crore. This amount is Rs 10,000 crore less than the borrowing in the same quarter last year. The finance ministry stated that the borrowing calendar, set in consultation with the RBI, may be adjusted based on market conditions and requirements.
