The Indian government has confirmed that IndiGo has disbursed Rs 163.92 crore in travel coupons to passengers affected by mass flight cancellations in early December, caused by a pilot shortage following new Flight Duty Time Limitations (FDTL) norms. Civil Aviation Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu informed the Rajya Sabha that around 3.64 lakh passengers were impacted. The government is implementing measures to prevent similar disruptions, while IndiGo has hired over 246 pilots and reduced operations by 10 percent to stabilize services.
