
On March 2, Indian stock markets closed sharply lower amid tensions from the Iran-Israel conflict. The BSE Sensex fell 1,048.34 points (1.29%) to 80,238.85, while the NIFTY 50 dropped 312.95 points (1.24%) to 24,865.70. The intraday decline erased nearly Rs 11 lakh crore from the total market capitalization of companies listed on the BSE, reducing it to approximately Rs 452.74 lakh crore.
