The BSE Midcap index saw a slight increase of 0.27%, whereas the Smallcap index dipped by 0.02%. ITC shares fell nearly 10% due to a new excise duty on tobacco products, impacting the Sensex. ICICI Bank and Bajaj Finance also contributed to the decline.
