PFRDA Forms Panel to Develop Assured Payout Framework for National Pension System

The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) has formed a 15-member expert committee, chaired by M S Sahoo, to develop a framework for assured payouts under the National Pension System (NPS). The panel aims to introduce predictable, market-linked pension income options, including fixed monthly payments for defined periods, enhancing retirement income security and flexibility. It will also address withdrawal norms, risk management, pricing, and tax neutrality to offer subscribers more choice beyond traditional annuities.
