India's Airports Authority of India (AAI) will study a request from the Maldives to assist in managing its Hanimaadhoo International Airport. This request follows the Maldives' termination of a contract with India's GMR Group over a decade ago for the Male International Airport. The Maldives government, during the airport's inauguration, sought Indian company involvement for management. India previously supported Hanimaadhoo's redevelopment with a significant line of credit and contracted an Indian firm for upgrades, aiming to boost economic growth and connectivity.
