Ghaziabad-Jewar Rapid Rail Corridor to Proceed, Delhi Rerouting Plan Dropped

The 72-kilometre Ghaziabad-Jewar rapid rail corridor connecting Ghaziabad to Noida International Airport via Greater Noida West will proceed as planned, confirmed by the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA). Approved in December 2025, the project will feature 22 stations and integrate with existing transit lines. A proposed alternative direct route from Delhi's Sarai Kale Khan to Jewar was considered but ultimately dropped after initial studies and discussions, reaffirming the original alignment's importance for western Uttar Pradesh connectivity.
