The Air India group has surpassed IndiGo on the Mumbai-Delhi route, India's busiest air corridor. Air India and Air India Express combined now hold over 48.8% of the capacity, compared to IndiGo's 38.8%. This intense competition has also led to a decrease in airfares on the route in 2025. The Mumbai-Delhi route is recognized globally as one of the busiest, with an average of 107 flights daily.
