The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) has proposed expanding the digital connectivity rating scale for real estate properties from five to nine levels by introducing half-star increments to better differentiate infrastructure quality. The regulator also suggested a design-stage assessment and certification for buildings under construction, allowing developers to obtain indicative ratings before completion. Additionally, Trai proposed voluntary audits for property managers to identify technical gaps without immediate public rating, aiming to enhance transparency and support telecom infrastructure planning.
