The Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) reported a 30.4% year-on-year increase in electricity traded volume to 12,550 million units (MU) in February 2026, driven by growth in the Real-Time Market (51.7% increase) and Green Market segments (46.3% increase). Despite a 1.9% rise in national energy consumption to 133 billion units, power prices on the exchange declined by over 18%, attributed to higher supply liquidity. The Day-Ahead Market volume rose 22.7%, while the Term-Ahead Market saw a 4.7% decline. Renewable Energy Certificates trading also increased by 15.2% during the month.
