
India has joined Pax Silica, a US-led coalition formed in December 2025 to secure supply chains in semiconductors, AI infrastructure, and critical minerals, aiming to reduce dependence on China. The coalition includes countries like the US, Japan, and the UK, with observers such as the EU and Taiwan. Following this, India signed a strategic agreement with Brazil, which holds the world's second-largest rare earth reserves, focusing on exploration, technology transfer, and research investment to enhance its own reserves and support sectors like electric vehicles and renewable energy.
