GAIL Approves Rs 1,736 Crore Wind Power Project in Maharashtra to Expand Renewables

GAIL (India) Ltd has approved a Rs 1,736.25 crore investment to develop a 178.2 MW wind power project in Maharashtra, aiming to double its existing wind capacity of 117.95 MW. The project, expected to be completed within 24 months of contract award, supports GAIL's goal to expand its renewable energy portfolio to 3.4 GW by 2035 and achieve net-zero carbon emissions by that year. The company is also investing in solar, green hydrogen, and compressed biogas projects to align with India's clean energy targets.
