Uber Secures Five-Year Transport Aggregator Licence Renewal in Karnataka

Uber has received a five-year renewal of its transport aggregator licence from the Karnataka State Transport Authority, valid from December 31, 2021, to December 30, 2026. This renewal allows Uber to legally operate car and autorickshaw services across Karnataka, ending a period of regulatory uncertainty after its previous licence expired in December 2021. The licence excludes bike taxis, which remain under separate regulation. Uber emphasized its commitment to working with the government to support safe and technology-driven urban mobility in the state.
