Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) reduced its workforce by nearly 30,000 employees over six months amid a restructuring drive influenced by AI adoption and changing business needs. While about 7,800 exits were linked to restructuring, over 22,000 departures resulted from voluntary attrition and slower hiring. TCS continues to recruit talent but releases employees when redeployment is unfeasible. The company expects restructuring and workforce adjustments to continue into 2026, emphasizing compliance with legal processes and no fixed layoff targets.
