
Goa's government received Rs 252.83 crore from the auction of 12 iron ore blocks, with five blocks already operational and seven awaiting environmental clearances, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced during the 2026-27 state budget presentation. The budget allocates Rs 26 crore to the mines department and includes schemes to support mining-affected truck owners and barge owners. Plans also include establishing an ore grade testing laboratory and initiating further auctions of mining blocks.
