
Guyana has invited Indian companies to bid in its 2026 oil block auctions, aiming to diversify its energy sector. The South American nation, a rapidly growing oil producer, supplied approximately six million barrels of crude oil to India in 2025. Guyana's High Commissioner expressed optimism for expanding energy ties, noting Indian companies could participate in both purchasing crude and upstream extraction activities as Guyana's production aims to reach 1.7 million barrels per day by 2030.
