Hyundai is reportedly unable to repurchase its former auto plant in Russia due to the ongoing war in Ukraine and existing sanctions. The buyback option, included in the sale of the St. Petersburg facility to AGR Automotive Group for a symbolic amount, is set to expire in January. A source familiar with Hyundai's deliberations cited the conflict as the reason for not being in a position to buy back the shares, though Hyundai stated a final decision has not yet been made.
