Piyush Goyal Highlights Need for Self-Reliance in India's Capital Goods Sector

Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal emphasized the need for India to become self-reliant in the capital goods sector, highlighting container manufacturing's role in boosting trade. Speaking at a post-Budget webinar, he noted that promoting this sector could unlock nearly Rs 2.5 lakh crore of CPSE inventory. Key suggestions include enhancing talent and supplier confidence in semiconductors, material localization, skill development in electronics, and improving infrastructure for chemical parks. He also stressed advancing the textiles sector through global scale and digital handloom platforms.
