India Sees Growing Adoption of FASTag Annual Pass to Streamline Toll Payments

India's Ministry of Road Transport and Highways reported that over 40 lakh FASTag annual passes have been sold since their launch on August 15, 2025, covering nearly 20% of car users. The pass, priced at Rs 3,000 for 200 toll trips or one year, aims to reduce travel costs and ease congestion across 1,159 toll plazas. These reforms, part of broader efforts to digitize toll payments and improve highway travel efficiency, have led to a 25% drop in cash collections and increased transparency, benefiting frequent commuters and commercial transporters alike.
