The Gujarat government has approved the formation of nine new District Central Cooperative Banks (DCCBs) across the state. These new banks will be established in districts including Dahod, Aravalli, Tapi, and Anand. This initiative, supported by Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, aims to expand rural cooperative banking following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision. The move is expected to facilitate easier access to finance for farmers, thereby boosting the rural economy. The state government will now seek approval from the Reserve Bank of India through NABARD.
